My Sheep Raising Philosophy

I feed my butcher lambs a special diet to ensure a uniform taste from year to year.  As the old saying goes, you are what you eat.  The same goes for what you feed your market animals. By feeding a structured diet I am able to produce the best flavor possible.

I believe in using all of the animal that I possibly can--letting nothing go to waste. Hence I have the hides tanned and save the fat for soap, and make suet blocks for the birds.

My Experience

I have had sheep most of my life, I used to raise them as a kid and when I moved to Wisconsin over 20 years ago I began to build my flock.  I have won the Wisconsin State Master Shepherd award and have also given classes on everything from raising and caring for sheep as well as shearing and processing into products that you can use.

For the past 7 years I have been making an all natural sheep soap from the tallow of the lambs that are butchered every year.  This soap has demonstrated its ability to help those with dry skin as well as acne problems.
